Tutorial - How to restore iOS firmware using IPSW file?

Something that you must know:
To restore a device means to restore it to the default factory settings. All your data inside will be gone. Please back up your data before you proceed. If you just want to update, please click on the "Check for Update" button instead of "Restore" button.

Once you have successfully upgrade to the latest firmware, you would not be able to downgrade it unless you have your SHSH backup.

Step 1
Click on the "Restore" button to download the file from Apple Store.

Alternatively, visit Felixbruns to download the firmware file with .IPSW extension that you are required.

Step 2
Open your iTunes.

Step 3
If you are using Mac, press the "option"(press "control" if you in Windows) on your keyboard and click on the restore button to select the firmware you have downloaded to upgrade. Apple will only allows you to upgrade to the latest firmware, if you want to downgrade to previous firmware, you must have your SHSH backup.
Step 4
iTunes will verify your firmware version with Apple Store and your device will be rebooting and installing the firmware if there is no error.

Step 5
Your device is restarting and ready for use.
Step 6
Your device has been restored successfully.
